Life of Captain Robert
DeLoach remembered The life of the late Captain Robert Osgood DeLoach is remembered as one of patriotic service to his country. The former Glennville High School (GHS) football stadium, now the Glennville Middle School sports stadium, is named in memory of Captain DeLoach. Robert was born on July 7, 1918, to Robert Osgood DeLoach, Sr., and Amanda Alexander DeLoach of Glennville. He was a 1935 graduate of GHS and was well known as a football star. A May 16, 1935, story in The Glennville Sentinel, entitled “Class from Glennville on visit to Washington,” mentions him as one of the 20 GHS seniors on the trip.
